Boston - Eight-time Grammy Award-winner Natalie Cole will join Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Wednesday, May 7, at Symphony Hall for the opening of the orchestra’s 123rd season, which will include appearances by jazz legend Arturo Sandoval, 10,000 Maniacs front woman Natalie Merchant, Dresden Doll Amanda Palmer, Broadway leading man Brian Stokes Mitchell, and John Williams leading film nights featuring Lynn Redgrave, as well as a first-ever local high school sing-off, the Pops debut of Garrison Keillor, and a season-long tribute to Leonard Bernstein.
