Six Semi-Finalists Vie Tonight To Reach Final Round of Popsearch Competition
The six semi-finalist POPSearch singers take the stage at approximately 8:45 p.m. tonight (Tuesday, June 12) to compete for the chance to advance to the final round of the Boston Pops’ “American Idol”-style contest. These six vocalists – from as far away as the Seattle area - will be singing for conductor Keith Lockhart and the Symphony Hall audience. Three finalists will be announced after the Pops concert’s intermission tonight.
Music lovers across the country can watch videos of tonight’s performances and vote for their favorite singer at www.bostonpops.org.
This elite group of six semi-finalist singers was selected from a nationwide pool of applicants, who auditioned live at Symphony Hall, submitted a video through YouTube, or mailed in an audition tape. The winner will sing at the Boston Pops’ marquis event on July 4, tour with the orchestra on its national summer tour, and win $5,000. Everyone is welcome to watch the singers and vote for their favorite at www.BostonPops.org, or see them in person tonight at Symphony Hall.
